Daniel Flickinger Obituary
Daniel Ralph
Daniel Flickinger, age 57, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 28, 2014, after an extended stay at Genesis Healthcare Center in Perrysburg. He was born on January 17, 1957, to Ralph and Wanda Flickinger in Oregon. He graduated from Lake High School and lived in Lake Twp. most of his adult life. Danny worked various jobs but his greatest passion was farming. He had a true "green thumb".
He was an avid outdoorsman, an amazing marksman, and loved to hunt, fish, and trap. He loved all kinds of animals and even had a few pet raccoons in his life. He loved to sit around his backyard firepit, drink a beer, and visit with his friends. Dan the Man will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Danny was preceded in death by his brother, Doug, grandparents Ted and Helen Cunningham, and also his 4 legged-companion Barney. He is survived and will be deeply missed by his parents, sister, Donna Pettrey; brother, Bruce Beach; special uncle and aunt, John and Naomi Hazel; and special cousin, Carol Rush. He is also survived by his nephews, Brian Jr. and Brad (Ruth) Pettrey; along with 4 great-nieces, and 1 great-nephew. A special thanks to Mark for adopting Danny's 4 legged-companion Lola, and making her part of his family.
Per Danny's request services will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Witzler-Shank Funeral Home - Walbridge. The family would like to thank the staff at Genesis Healthcare in Perrysburg and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care and support the last 10 months. Online condolences may be made at

I remember all the great times we all had growing up! We were always getting into trouble. LOL. Lost track as we became Adults, but whenever I would feel pensive, days of our youth came to mind and made me smile....R.I.P. my Friend....May He Bless your loved ones.....

Dan worked for my husband at one time, and we became friends. Dan was such a sweet and kind soul. He surprised me with a piece of petrified coral and sand dollar from one of his trips to Florida. They are now displayed on my mantle and are a special treasure of mine. He will surely be missed. Rest in peace, Dan.
