BONIFAS

Elizabeth Hayward

Elizabeth Hayward Bonifas (Beth), of Hudson, Michigan, passed away peacefully after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis on October 3, 2013 at Hospice of Lenawee in Adrian, Michigan, surrounded by her loving family. She was born July 11, 1963, in Washington, D.C., the daughter of John F. Hayward and Mary Beth Ludwig Hayward. Beth was a loving wife and devoted mother. Beth grew up in Toledo and attended the former St. Angela Hall, Gesu School and Notre Dame Academy, where she graduated in 1981. She later

attended Bowling Green State University, before her marriage.

On May 4, 1991, she married Dean Bonifas at Our Lady Queen of the Most Holy

Rosary Cathedral in Toledo, Ohio, and he survives. Also surviving are her sons, Ben, currently stationed with the U.S. Navy in Charleston, South Carolina, and Ian, of Hudson. In addition to her husband and sons, Beth is survived by her father and stepmother, John F. Hayward and Jeanie Bugert Hayward of Toledo; her sister, Bridget (John) Kahle of Columbus, Ohio, and three brothers, John P. Hayward (Patricia McCormick) of Perrysburg, Thomas A. Hayward (Tom Wright) of Lexington, Kentucky, and Ethan (Melinda) Hayward of St. John,

Indiana; stepsisters, Kristi DelVerne (James), and Gretchen Williams (Ryan), both of Toledo; stepsister, Jennifer Norman (Chad) of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, and stepbrother, Michael Bugert (Angie) of Toledo;

father-in-law and mother-in-law, Dennis (Janet) Bonifas of Edgerton, Ohio; sisters-in-law, Joann (Rick) Whitsaman of Bryan, Ohio, and Denise (Doug) Stark of Edgerton, Ohio, and brothers-in-law, Alan (Janet) Bonifas of Swanton, Ohio, and Steve Bonifas of Edgerton, Ohio, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as they loved her. Beth was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Beth Ludwig Hayward, her maternal grandparents, George and Evelyn Ludwig of Muskegon, Michigan, and paternal grandparents, Franklin and Anna Mae Hayward of Toledo.

Following her mother's

example, she donated her body to The University of Toledo College of Medicine and Health Sciences for medical research.

Her entire family is deeply grateful to the devoted and caring staff of Hospice of Lenawee, who made the last months of Beth's life so meaningful. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any tributes be made to Hospice of Lenawee, 1903 Wolf Creek Highway, Adrian, MI 49221.

To celebrate Beth's life, a Memorial Mass will take place at Sacred Heart Church in Hudson, Michigan on

Saturday, October 12, 2013, at 11 a.m.

Dean, Ben, Ian and Mr. Hayward,

I am so sorry to hear of Beth's passing. I laugh when I recall the many great times in high school with Beth, Michiale Schneider, Mike Murawa and me. I few summers ago, I had the pleasure of visiting with her in Hudson and meeting the boys. It was great reconnecting and catching up. My prayers and thoughts are with her whole family.

President Hayward, As you travel through your valley of tears, take time to look upward and know that Beth is in heaven with her dear mother who is saving a place at God's table for her. Her pain and suffering are over. Be strong(as you always have been) and celebrate the short time she was with all of you here on earth. Know that God loves and embraces her just as you once did being a great role model and father!
Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family during this difficult time.
God Bless!
