Kenneth Klonowski Obituary

Kenneth John Klonowski

Kenneth J Klonowski, age 66, passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2021. He was born February 1, 1954 in Toledo, Ohio to Ted and Charlotte (Olszewski) Klonowski. Ken grew up in The Polish Village and was lifelong member of St. Adalbert Parish. He was a 1972 graduate of Central Catholic High School, where he excelled in baseball – lettering all four years. After graduating Davis Business College, Ken met and then married Karen Stahl on September 13, 1980. Ken retired from The City of Toledo in 2010 after 33 years.

Ken played dartball for years with the 4th Ward League (PRCUA) and liked to play the occasional round of golf. He enjoyed all things baseball, especially listening to games on his transistor radio. He was a movie lover and always made sure to watch the Academy Award Winner for Best Picture each year. Ken was a U of M football season ticket holder for years, and he was thrilled to see The Cleveland Browns finally make the playoffs.

Ken is survived by his wife of 40 years, Karen; daughters, Maureen (Mike) Pecorella, Megan (Stephen) Hinojosa, and Monica; grandchildren, Evan, Daniel, and Greyson Pecorella and Avery, Amelia, and Alexander Hinojosa; brother, Ralph; and nephew, Nicholas. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog Star.

The Funeral Mass for Ken will be Saturday, January 16 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 5153 Summit St., Toledo, OH 43611 preceded by visitation at the church from 10-11 a.m.

Many fond memories of Ken in the hallways of Central. He always had a smile for me. Loved watching him play baseball, gave it is all. So sorry for the void that his family must be feeling at this time, just a great loss.

I’m so to hear of Kenny’s passing. My prayers are with Karen and the family. My deepest condolences. I remember how kind both Kenny & Karen were when I lost my husband, Terry. I will always remember their kindness. Can imagine Kenny & Terry are reminiscing about the days at CCHS and baseball. You will be in my thoughts during this difficult time.
