Louis Dueñas Obituary
Louis J.
Louis Joseph Dueñas, age 82, passed away Monday, August 5, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. Louis was born on July 10, 1931, to Francisco Dueñas and Margarita Villarruel in Toledo, Ohio.
Louis leaves his loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis Dueñas; children, Vickie (Ed) Cox, Michael (Dana) Dueñas, Robin (Robert) Beck, Lisa Veler, Steven Dueñas, Carmen (Gabriel) Dueñas-Mendoza, Amie Dueñas; 21 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
Louis was a veteran of the United States Air Force and served from October 1951 to October 1955. Louis worked for the City of Toledo in the "Division Of Transportation" for over 40 years and received the Mayor's "Gold" award of excellence on February 12, 2001. Louis was a member of Little Flower Parish. During his retirement he enjoyed the outdoors and several projects out of his workshop. Louis loved to listen to a variety of music, while playing from his record collection. Louis loved to sit in the sunshine during long naps after enjoying great food, life, love and family events. Throughout his lifetime, Louis traveled to several states, as well as world locations. Louis loved and lived for his wife and family. His love and laughter was always sincere and his smile would make anyone's day better.
A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013, at Our Lady Of Lourdes Church on Hill Ave., Toledo, Ohio. The family of Louis J. Dueñas request in lieu of flowers that any donations be made to the "Food Bank" at Little Flower Parish.

Dear Nonnie Phyllis, Vicki, Michael, Robim, Steven, Lisa, Amy, and Carmen (hopefully I got the order correct)
We are very saddend about your tough day today and what you will have to go through without you Louis by your side. He was was a wonderful man and Papa. It is especially sad that his new Grandchildren and Greatgradchilren will never get to experience that great and powerful love. I truly feel blessed to have known him. All our love.
