Walter R. Leonard, 70, of Scottdale, died peacefully early Thursday morning, Dec. 26, 2013, at the home of Marsha Lynn Jones. He was born Aug. 27, 1943, in Scottdale, a son of the late Charles B. and Mary R. Brown Leonard. Walt's memories will forever remain in the hearts of his children: his two sons, Charles V. Leonard and wife, Kelli, of Scottdale, and James Eric Leonard and wife, Kris, of Alverton; his two daughters, Angela M. Taylor and husband, Larry, of Ligonier, Diana L. Tate and husband, Denny, of Mt. Pleasant, and their mother, Marsha Lynn Jones, with whom he resided; his seven grandchildren, Tyler and Alex Leonard, Amanda and Chelsie Leonard, Michael Kempka and Hunter and Hannah Tate; and his three sisters, Virginia Dolan and husband, Bill, of Laurelville, Kathy Prinkey, of Tarrs, and Mary "Liz" Kropp and husband, Roger, of Alverton. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by six brothers, James, Robert, Earl, Thomas, Charles and John Leonard; and two sisters, Marie Paul and Toni Keefer. The family would like to extend their appreciation to Amedisys Home Health Care for their care and professionalism. In fulfilling Walt's wishes, private cremation services and inurnment have been entrusted to the FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale.
