Mary Redwood Obituary

Mary Aileen (Sayles) Redwood, 86, of McKeesport, peacefully transitioned Thursday, Sept. 1, 2016, in Riverside Nursing Center. Born April 28, 1930, in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Violet Preston Sayles. She was preceded in death by siblings, Bessie D. Boyd, Jean Sayles, Jacqueline Louise Jenkins and Clarence Sayles Jr.; and grandchildren, Jamer Johnson and Tameka Angelec Adams. She was a member of Heaven Bound Singers, a Potter's House Church Mother and Prayer Warrior with Cornerstone TV. Mary was a graduate of Hardy Bible School and was a homemaker. Surviving are children, Angel T. Redwood, Carmelita Redwood, Paul Melvin Redwood, all of McKeesport, and John Carmen Redwood, of Pittsburgh; brother, Gerald (Maxine) Sayles, of McKeesport; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Zion Baptist Church, 1300 Locust St., McKeesport, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Richard Truss officiating. Interment will be private. Arrangements entrusted to the ROBERT A. WATERS FUNERAL HOME INC., McKeesport.
