William Zopf Obituary

William C. "Bill" Zopf Sr., 85, of Conway, formerly of Monaca, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, after a lengthy illness. He was born April 8, 1922, in Monaca to the late Hubert and Naiomi (Davis) Zopf and served his country during World War II in the Army Air Forces stationed in Guam. Bill retired after 39 years of service at Beaver Trust and was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and a lifetime member of the Rochester Elks and American Legion. The family would like to thank Dr. Wolfert and his staff at Liberty Dialysis for the excellent care they took of Bill. Beloved husband of 61 years of Elizabeth "Betty" (Jena) Zopf. Father of William C. Zopf Jr. (Patty), of Wexford; Janis Miller (Jim), of Conway, and the late Jeffrey Zopf. Grandfather of Jamie Holewski (Matt), of Virginia; Jennifer Rosati (Justin), of Center Township; Jessica Miller, of Conway, and William III and Annie Zopf, of Wexford. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME OF CRANBERRY, 2678 Rochester Road, 724-772-8800. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. Sebastian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Dialysis, 1682 State St., Baden, PA 15005.
