Sarah 'Sally' Griffin Trimbur, 87, born on Oct. 24, 1936, peacefully passed away at her home in Champion, PA on Aug. 6, 2024. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Sally was known for her warmth, joy, and sharp wit that endeared her to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Proud of her Irish heritage, Sally's lively personality, twinkling eyes, and infectious laughter were the hallmarks of her character. She had a natural gift for storytelling and an unmatched sense of humor, always quick with a clever remark or a funny tale that could brighten anyone's day. Sally was truly the life of the party. Sally was born in the Morrowfield Apartments in Squirrel Hill, PA. She attended Mount Mercy Academy, graduating in 1954, before graduating from the University of Pittsburgh. Sally began her career as a schoolteacher but paused to raise her four children. Later, she pursued her entrepreneurial spirit by founding The Ample Hamper, a market and deli near Seven Springs Mountain Resort. She ran the business from 1989 until her retirement in 2015. Sally is survived by her devoted husband of 61 years, Thomas, with whom she shared a remarkable partnership that served as a shining example to all who knew them. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories, especially with their children and friends. As a mother, Sally was proud and loving, raising her four children: Paul, Tom, Matt, and Maggie. She also embraced her daughters-in-law, Holly and Lauren, and her son-in-law, Mike, as her own. She was 'Nana' to her seven grandchildren. Her family was the center of her world, and she dedicated herself to ensuring their happiness and well-being. She took immense pride in everyone's accomplishments. Nana Sally's home was a place of warmth and love, filled with joyful traditions and wonderful memories. Sally's quick wit, gentle nature, and deep love for her family will be profoundly missed. She had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and loved, with her home always being a place of comfort, joy, and delicious food. Her door was always open, and many of her children's friends considered her a second mother. To countless others, she was not just a good friend but a friend for life.
