Anthony Nase

Anthony Nase, 82, of New Kensington, died Tuesday (Dec. 30, 2003) in Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison.

Born Nov. 11, 1921, in Sagamore, he lived in the Valley all his life. An Army Air Force veteran of World War II, he served as a corporal. Mr. Nase, a coal miner, was a machine operator for the Beth Energy Coal Co. in Lardintown and for the Culmerville Coal Co. before retiring after 42 years. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Mr. Nase enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling. Survivors include two stepsons, George Marunich Jr. of North Huntingdon and Dan Marunich of Washington; a stepdaughter, Carole (Robert) Marunich Amantea of North Huntingdon; a brother, Frank (Elaine) Nase of Russellton, West Deer; and a sister, Helen (Joseph) Rubcich of Russellton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Swatz Nase; his parents, Joseph and Helen D'Alessio Nase; two brothers, Joseph and Roy Nase; and two sisters, Teresa Casper and Angeline Bzorek. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg at Alder Street, Lower Burrell, where funeral services will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar.
