David Greene Obituary

David Greene, 56, of Tarentum, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014. He was born Sept. 1, 1957, in Pittsburgh. He was a graduate of Penn Hills High School, where he was a member of the basketball team, and also a graduate of Rosedale Tech. His passion for racing cars also led him to attend a professional racing school. Before his battle with pancreatic cancer, he worked at Fastlane Performance as well as the Pittsburgh Raceway. David was professionally known for his mechanic abilities throughout Pennsylvania. David was a son of the late Severa and Dorothy Greene. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman, William, Donald and Richie Greene; and two sisters, Darlene Greene and Diane Perkins. David was the beloved husband of Marian Kendall Greene. Their marriage was Christ-centered and the Lord's presence was very evident in David's life. David was a proud father to Frederick (Akiko) Clay, Darrell (Katie) Hastie Jr., Taiesha Hastie, Moriah Hastie, Nico Hastie, Nia Hastie and Timika Hastie. He adored his 15 grandchildren. David is survived by his sister, Dolores (Calvin) Buntin; and two brothers, Allen (Tina) Greene and Tommie (Gail) Greene. He also leaves behind two devoted friends, Steve Fulwylie and Keith Bowman. He was also uncle to a host of nieces and nephews. David was loved by many, will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. A celebration of David's life will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014, at Cheswick Christian Fellowship, where he was a member. Arrangements were entrusted to the JOSEPH J.
