Gloria June Yakshe

1928 - 2023

Gloria June Kruse Yakshe, 94, of Export, formerly of Washington Township, died Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2023, at her home, surrounded by her daughters and granddaughters. She was born Nov. 1, 1928, in New Kensington, to the late Alfons Alfred and Regina Wanda Rusiewicz Kruse, and was a lifelong resident of the local area. Mrs. Yakshe was a member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, Christian Mothers, and the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary. June, as she was known to all, was a loving, gentle woman, who loved laughter, baking, cooking, crafting, ceramics, gardening, and the holidays. June was a former Girl Scout leader for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 71 years, Edward W. Yakshe, on April 15, 2021. June is survived her three children, William "Buzzy" (Lynn Aldridge) Yakshe, of Milford, Del., Joanne Yakshe, of Export, with whom she made her home, and Dr. Patti (Michael Honkus) Yakshe, of Lower Burrell; three grandchildren, Krysten (Eric) Junstrom, Kellee (Matthew) Urso, and Matthew Yakshe; two great-grandchildren, Graham Matthew Urso and Mollie Jo Urso, who were the lights of her life; brother, Edmund (Denise) Kruse, of Trout Run, Pa.; several nieces and nephews; cousins; and her 15 granddogs, especially Mason, who never left her side. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Alfons Kruse. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street, where prayers of transfer will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by Christian funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Church. Burial will follow in Plum Creek Cemetery, Plum Borough. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Light of Life Rescue Mission or Little Sisters of the Poor. www.RusiewiczFH.com.
