Hazel Fintor Obituary

Hazel J. Fintor, 77, of Ashburn, Va., formerly of Tarentum, died Monday (Jan. 5, 2004) in Johnson Center at Falcons Landing, Potomac Falls, Va.

Born May 28, 1926, in Manor, she lived in the Valley before moving to Ashburn in 1988. She was a 1944 graduate of New Kensington High School. Mrs. Fintor was a switchboard operator and receptionist at Air Products and Chemicals, East Deer, for 26 years, and at Mason Financial Services, Reston, Va. She was a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church, Ashburn, and a former member of Holy Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Tarentum. She is survived by a daughter, Shelley Fintor of Ashburn. She also is survived by a cousin, Rena Kish of Lower Burrell; several other cousins; several nephews and nieces; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Margaret (Anthony J.) Kosheba of New Kensington. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Fintor; a son, Craig J. Fintor; her parents, Trio and Hazel Mason Reed; and two sisters, Martha Mitroff and Maxine Smith. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in SPRINGDALE at CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 801 Pittsburgh Street. Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in Holy Martyrs Church. Burial will be in Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the National Capital Region, P.O. Box 1576, Merrifield, VA 22116-1576.
