John Borland Obituary

John N. Borland III, 55, of Blawnox died Thursday, June 9, 2005, at Harmar Village, after a three-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Born April 29, 1950, in New Kensington to the late John N. Jr. and Geraldine Scott Borland, he was a lifelong resident of this area. He worked in the warehouse of the Eckerd Drug Co., O'Hara. Mr. Borland was a member of the Cheswick Presbyterian Church. A life member of the Cheswick Volunteer Fire Department, and the Lower Valley Ambulance Service, John collected Code 3 fire truck replicas. He also was an avid Pirates fan. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Walmsley Borland; a son, E/4 Petty Officer 3rd Class, Brad H. (Savannah) Borland, stationed with the Navy in Sicily, Italy; three stepdaughters, Sherri (Herb) Brown and Jamie Radovich, both of Trafford, and Dana Radovich of Chicago; two brothers, Timothy S. (Diane) Borland of Cheswick and Daniel G. (Kathy) Borland of Russellton; four sisters, Linda K. Schweitzer of Springdale, Patti A. (John) Dickens of Rice's Landing, Gayle M. (James) Prasnikar of Cheswick, and Susan Eileen (Michael) Gallo of Springdale; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Mary Walmsley of Blawnox; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jim and Pati Walmsley of Penn Hills. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received Saturday, from 7-9 p.m., and Sunday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in CHESWICK at the CHARLES B. JARVIE FUNERAL HOME INC., 1607 Pittsburgh St., where services are set for 11 a.m. Monday. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Dorseyville. Memorial donations may be made to the Cheswick Volunteer Fire Department. Visit us at www.jarviefuneralhome.com.
