Theodore L. "Ted" Wrobel Sr., 78, of Brackenridge, died peacefully Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008, at Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Allegheny Valley Hospital, Harrison Township, with his family at his side. He was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Natrona, son of the late Stanley Wrobel Sr. and Marie (Zebrowski) Wrobel, and lived most of life Brackenridge. He was a specialty glass worker for the former Liberty Mirror, Brackenridge, for 30 years and was also a self-employed plasterer for a number of years. He was a member of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, Most Blessed Sacrament Church, Natrona Heights, life member of Oregon Hunting and Fishing Club, Brackenridge, and social member of Brackenridge American Legion, Tarentum Eagles and Tarentum Jednota. He graduated from Har Brack High School in 1947. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, sports, dog racing and spending time with his family and friends. Survivors include his son, Theodore L. Wrobel Jr., of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; daughter, Melanie L. (James) Thomas, of Natrona Heights; grandsons, Jarred Thomas and Seth Thomas, both of Natrona Heights; granddaughters, Cara Wrobel, of Alexandria, Va., and Taylor Wrobel, of Myrtle Beach; great-grandson, Caden Wrobel, of Alexandria; brothers-in-law, Paul Bartell, of Brackenridge, and Robert Markwell, of Tarentum; and sister, Marie Glogowski, of Natrona. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Stephanie L. (Bartell) Wrobel, in 2003; infant granddaughter, Bailey Wrobel; brother, Stanley Wrobel; and two sisters, Florence "Flo" Markwell and Sophie "Sue" Atkinson. Relatives and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the DUSTER FUNERAL HOME INC., Tenth Avenue at Corbet Street, Tarentum, 724-224-1526, where a private blessing service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday by the Rev. William Siple, her Parochial Vicar. Private burial will be in Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights. The Tarentum Eagles will meet at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.
