FRANK JENKINS Obituary

Frank P. Jenkins Frank Jenkins died peacefully at his home in Browns Point on July 22, 2018. He was born in Ballard on February 9, 1922 to parents Frank and Louise Jenkins, and grew up in Longview. At 19 Frank joined the Army at the start of World War II. He became a decorated officer, landing 6 days after D Day at Normandy, and finishing the war as a 1st Lieutenant commanding a tank battalion. After the war Frank attended the University of Washington, where he met wife Margaret. Frank was an independent, hardworking, and creative entrepreneur, who had his own insurance agency as well as a radio talk show, teaching college, and the Governor's Council for the Aging. He was an active leader in many community organizations, especially the YMCA. Frank was a founding member of Resurrection Lutheran Church, longtime member of St Luke's Lutheran Church, and led his own services at Dash Point State Park. Frank was a loving husband and father, who always put family first. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Margaret, and is survived by his sister Emily Allen, his children Paul, Matthew, Donna, Rebecca, and Daniel, 8 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at St Luke's Lutheran Church in Federal Way on August 25th at 1:00 PM. Please send any donations to YMCA Camp Seymour.
