Frank Michel Obituary

Frank J. Michel LUBBOCK - Frank J. Michel passed away on March 16, 2012 at his home in Lubbock, Texas, at the age of 79. Frank was born to Frank and Grace Michel in Brooklyn, New York on June 23, 1932. He subsequently moved to the Los Angeles area, where he met and married his future wife, Sharon. They had a long and adoring marriage, celebrating their 50th anniversary just last year. Their legacy of service to each other was an example to emulate. Frank had a wonderful personality, especially his boisterous sense of humor. Everyone who met him enjoyed how he would joke and kid around. There was never a lack of laughter when Frank was in the room. Frank liked traveling, especially to Las Vegas and California. Frank also enjoyed working with his hands, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than bringing back to life a piece of furniture or garden equipment that had been neglected. He and Sharon would often visit garage and estate sales and restore these hidden finds. Frank was an influence for good in the community. His passing has removed a kind and caring spirit from us that will be greatly missed. Frank is survived by his wife, Sharon, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted this Thursday at 2:00 p.m., March 22, 2012 in Sanders Memorial Chapel in Lubbock, and interment will immediately follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
