Gene Martin Olson "Spud" July 22, 1949 September 3, 2017 Was born in Seattle, Washington to Lucille Florence Whittles Olson and Donald L. Olson. Passed away at Franciscan Hospice in University Place, Washington with his family at his side. He was a proud employee of the City of Tacoma Water and Hydrant Department for 17 years. He loved to cheer on the Seattle Seahawks and the University of Washington Huskies. Football was his favorite sport. He is survived by his wife of 30 years Marcey Welfringer-Olson, his children Donald C.P. Olson, Shelly Clement (Clay), Cori A. Olson and Dane L. Olson, three grandchildren, 1 great grandson, several nieces, nephews and relatives. Celebration of Life will be held at Sprinker Recreation Center in Spanaway, Rainier Room, September 30, Saturday from 1:00 to 5:00 Potluck. In lieu of flowers a donation to American Lung Cancer Assoc. or donation of your choice.
