Many fond memories of Hank's arrival at Edwards AFB as our new bandmaster. That was his first band as Warrant officer. We miss his wonderful sense of humor and sage advice.

Not only was Hank Uhland a marvelous musician and bandleader, he also had an exceptional sense of humor. His ability to make people smile is what I will miss the most, but the memories will keep folks all over the world smiling when they think of him. He was a marvelous human being.

Hank helped me out in beginning an Air Force career, in 1970. I retired as a Chief, which would not have been possible had not Hank been helpful and supportive.

Being a 'new' modern musician, I had a difficult time learning to play the old masters with correct interpretation. Hank himself was a master a teaching it to you. I served with him in the Third AF Band, West Ruislip, England. As lead clarinetist I learned to love playing all of the 'old' Glenn Miller classics. I will truly miss you Hank.........

It is sad to hear of Hank's death. Louise and I enjoyed having him in our home. Always a gentleman he had a keen sense of humor and was a pleasure to be with.I don't believe he had an enemy in the world. He will be missed but he is in the great band in heaven.Tune'em up Hank.

I met Hank at the first reunion I

attended. He was a charming man and

we traded band stories. He lived a

long and bountiful life and I'm

happy to have met him.
