JACK CONRAD Obituary

Jack L. Conrad Born August 21, 1926 in Tacoma, died April 28, 2009 after battling cancer. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Jack lived, went to school and worked his whole life in Tacoma. He is preceded in death by parents Ralph and Beatrice Conrad and sister Patty. Jack was a WWII veteran, serving in the Navy and in the South Pacific. Upon finishing his naval duties in June of 1946, he enrolled at Pacific Lutheran College (now University) and graduated in 1951. After college Jack went to work for Sears and Roebuck where he worked for over forty years. Upon retiring Jack enjoyed time at his beach cabin and playing golf with his Sears buddies. He also enjoyed going to Palm Springs during the late winter months with his wife of over 59 years, Shirley. Jack his survived by his wife Shirley, son Mark (Ruth) Conrad of Puyallup, daughter Patti Conrad of Tacoma, grand-daughters Amy (Bruce) Smith, Shannon (Andrew) Taylor of Milton and two great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank MultiCare Hospice, especially Kyoung, social worker Lori and the Korean Women's Assn. for all their efforts to keep Jack comfortable in his last days. As per Jack's wishes, no service will be held, but a reception will follow at a later date.

Our love to you shirley. Jack was such a hoot at our store we enjoyed him..most of the time..He love you so much and was always dodting about you and making sure every thing was ok for you. he will be missed around summit trading.
