Roy and Ella Fagering

Roy Axel Fagering & Ella Fay Fagering A Beautiful Love Story Both passed away peacefully in their daughter Kris' home in Gig Harbor. Ella passed away peacefully onETuesday, December 16, 2008 and Roy followed her on Saturday, December 20, 2008. They were happily married for 66 years and enjoyed many years together. Roy was born November 30, 1919 to Aslask and Selma Fagereng in Petersburg, Alaska. Ella was born March 10, 1923 to Thomas and Ella Walters in Tacoma. They were married October 24, 1942. After graduation Roy joined the U.S. Navy and proudly served in WWII and the Korean War. After the war, Roy joined the auto industry and became a top salesman for a local dealership. That led him to join the auto freight industry. He then moved up and became a representative of the Port of Tacoma where he traveled around the world before retiring. Roy was involved with many business associates and was a past Commodore of the Day Island Yacht Club, where he and Ella were active members and participants. Ella, after graduation, joined the Retail Clerks Association and became checker for a few of the local stores such as SIB's, Manley's and Albertsons. She was also very active with the First Mates of the Day Island Yacht Club. Roy and Ella raised 5 children in Tacoma - Russ (Darlene) Fagering, Bob (Sue) Fagering, Jan (Jim) Cappa, Kris (Darrell) White and Ken (Sue) Fagering. They were blessed with 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Mom and Dad enjoyed a loving and peaceful life and left this world together. They had a perfect marriage and it ended as a perfect love story. A memorial service to celebrate their lives will be held on Monday, December 29, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Tuell-McKee Funeral Home, 2215 Sixth Ave., Tacoma, with inurnment following at 12:30 p.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery, Kent.
