HATTIE HELTON Obituary

HATTIE LOUISE HELTON Hattie Helton joined her Lord on Saturday, November 7, 2015. She was born in 1932 in Byers, Colorado to Aaron and Esther Davis as the last of Esther's 6 children. She had seven older siblings from her father's first marriage. She moved to Kennewick, Washington with her father, mother and brother, Harold in 1943 where she attended high school. She met and married David Helton, an army corporal from North Carolina who was stationed here to help guard the Hanford Reservation. She was employed as an office manager and bookkeeper at Culligan Soft Water for many years before she retired. Hattie was a well-loved member of the Hillspring (Cathedral of Joy) Church where she worshiped with her family for over 55 years. She especially loved teaching Sunday School and helping to take care of the little ones with her husband, Dave. On Sunday mornings you could always find them sharing the stories of Jesus with the children. She leaves behind an incredible legacy of faith. Hattie spent many hours caring for her family and friends and was truly the glue that held everyone together. There was always something good to eat and everyone was welcome at her table. Probably her greatest legacy was her unconditional love that was so generously poured out among us. We will be forever in debt to this humble servant of God. Hattie is survived by her husband of 65 years, David Helton, her brother Harold Davis, five children, Sherry (Marshall) Almarode, George (Sandra) Helton, Susan (Robert) Zaccaria, John (Barbara) Helton, and Tom (Patricia) Helton. These in turn blessed them with 13 grandchildren and 17 grandchildren. Hattie also leaves a host of extended family too great to mention. She shared her love generously with everyone. Her example will not soon be forgotten. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, November 21st at Hillsprings Church (Cathedral of Joy) 1153 Gage Blvd. Richland, Washington.

I will always remember the good times we had on Entiat street growing up there with the Helton boys and Hattie was a real kind lady to all us kids. You could always smell good food coming from her home, and the kids were raised with respect and kindness to all. What a pleasure it was to have known this fine lady. Rest in Peace, a job well done. God speed on your journey. Thank You dear lady for all you did.
