PASTOR ROBSON Obituary

Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home

Pastor Gordon Robson was born on May 3, 1944, to Chester and Ida Robson. He was married to Gerri Robson in Green Bay, WI, in 1974. He was a graduate of La Cross State University and received his Masters from Wisconsin State University Patterville, WI.

He had recently received an earned Doctorate in Ministry. He was the head of Riverview Baptist Bible Institute and Prison Ministry. He spent much time with the Youth of the Church in counseling, teaching, preaching and loving others. He was an assistant pastor at Riverview Baptist Church where he loved to serve the Lord and died serving the Lord.

A great man of God is dancing on the streets of gold now with his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. We're sad here in Pasco, WA to say goodbye to Pastor Robson, but we picture his "cute" face (his words whenever you would ask him how he was he would say "cute") beaming with joy at the first sight of his Savior's face.

He is survived by his wife Gerri Robson, mother Ida Robson, brother Wayne (Barb) Robson, George Robson, son Robert Robson, daughter Rose (Scott) Riley. He is preceded in death by his father Chester Robson.

Visitation will be Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at 4:00 pm at Riverview Baptist Church 4900 W. Richardson in Pasco, and Wednesday, October 31, 2012 @ 10:00am. The service will be at Riverview Baptist Church at 11 am, Burial will take place at Riverview Heights Cemetery in Kennewick, WA. The Pallbearers will be Pastor Keith Garner, Pastor Jesse Chouinard, Ron Crocall, Robert Jellison, Adrian Medina, and Joseph Hendricks.

Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

I must add to my November 17th entry. Our friend Jack who is incarcerated called that very evening. He told about Mrs. Robson coming to the prison, and getting to watch the service in memory of Pastor Robson. That meant sooo much to Jack and really helped ease his pain. It was sweet to hear him say that he wants to be just like Pastor Robson! I have just finished a study of the book of Philippians and remember the Apostle Paul telling the Philippians to follow his example and be like him as he followed Jesus. It so warmed my heart to hear Jack making it his aim to honor a man of God that he loved and respected, a man who set such a good example of what it means to follow Jesus. Thank you again, and may God continue to comfort, strengthen, support and hold you!

A dear friend who is like a son to us is incarcerated in Umatilla. Pastor Robson was his "Pastor" and he spoke often of how much Pastor Robson meant to him. Jack called to tell us about Pastor Robson's passing and was heartbroken. We have not heard from our friend since, but do pray that there will be others with a heart for God, for His word, and for the incarcerated, who might pick up where he left off and continue the ministry at Two Rivers that was impacting lives. Thank you for sharing this godly man with "the least of these" and we praise God for His ministry and faithfulness! We are from out of state and can only visit once yearly. I know visits and truth shared would be a great encouragement to Jack and others. Jack is using his prison time to study to become a pastor as well! God bless you all and send the peace of His presence to comfort and sustain you!

Gordon is certainly a great example of a person who "has fought the good fight, kept the faith and gone on to the claim the prize of victory!"

His triumph is also the celebration of how God's Spirit supports us in life's struggles through a loving wife Gerri and family, plus the faith community.

We praise God for the gift Gordon has been to all of us and pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to support each member of the family during this time of mourning. Remember that Gordon is on the Victory side! Love, Cousin George B., Terri and Family.

Mrs. Robson, Thank you for sharing such a wonderful man to so many of us that would not have made it without his influence. He was my dear friend when I was there and on email since then. I can't help but be a bit jealous of him right now but I know if there is any sadness allowed in heaven it would only be because he misses you! Well done thou good and faithful servant! A great man will be missed deeply by many. We love you!

Dearest Gerri & family,

Though our hearts here on earth are hurting, how happy Pastor Robson must be in Heaven without the aid of any medical equipment to help him breathe, walk, talk and now run!!

We will miss his "cute" face and always joyful spirit! I'm sorry for the time(s) we may have locked him in the building by mistake!! :)

Our love and prayers are with you and we wish we could be there during your time of need.

Love,
Pastor & Mrs. Jay Towne and Laura
