SPRINGFIELD - Anne Vitale Jannazzo Richards, 93, of Springfield, died at 5:08 am, Tuesday, May 3, 2011. She was born April 24, 1918 in Wyandotte, Michigan to Onofrio and Stella Cucaka Vitale. She married Angelo "Nick" Jannazzo in 1946 and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1991. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one brother Dominic "Mimi" Vitale, and two brother-in-laws: Sam Randazzo and Vincent Minelli
Survivors include one daughter, Anna (David) Medvesek of Springfield; three sons, Joseph (Linda) Jannazzo and Nicholas Jannazzo both of Springfield and Dominic (Gina) Jannazzo of Indianapolis, IN; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters Angela Minelli of Santa Barbara, CA, and Marie Randazzo Springfield; one brother Mario Vitale of Pittsfield and several nephews and cousins.
Anne was a member of St. Agnes church. She enjoyed knitting and was a homemaker. She has worked for Bressmers and Barkers Department Stores and was Hostess for the St. Nicholas Hotel and The Supper Club
Visitation: 4-6 p.m., Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Staab Funeral Home with prayers at 4:00 p.m.
Graveside Service: 11:30 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2011 at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Hammond, IN.
Memorial contributions may be made to Senior Services of Central Illinois
