Lisa MYERS Obituary

MYERS, Lisa Marie (Hilton) Passed away peacefully at her home Saturday morning, February 11, 2017 after an 18-month battle with cancer. Lisa was born October 1, 1960 to Marta (Zepeda) Hilton and Gordon Hilton in Los Angeles, CA. Upon the death of her father at age 11, Lisa's family moved to Douglas, Arizona, where she attended Douglas High School. Lisa was a high school and college cheerleader and Miss Douglas Runner-up, and her artistic talent brought her to the University of Arizona, where she graduated with a degree in graphic design and illustration. She began her career at Taylor Advertising as an artist/graphic designer. There she met and later married Doug Myers. Lisa's entrepreneurial spirit led her and Doug to open Hilton & Myers Advertising at the young age of 25 with absolutely no clients and very little capital. Together they built one of the largest and most successful advertising agencies in the history of the state, with over 75 Addy awards over 30 years in business. As owner, Art Director and Creative Director, Lisa was the heart and soul of the agency. She also contributed her time and energies to numerous charitable causes, none more dear to her than the TMC Foundation, where she helped raise the funds for TMC to improve the health of thousands of people in her community. Her logos and artwork adorn the hospital as well as businesses large and small across southern Arizona. Lisa's real passion was her family, especially her two daughters, Ariel and Athena. She was involved with every aspect of their lives, helped them navigate every project, and never missed a game, dance recital or awards assembly. She was an amazing artist, fantastic dancer, world traveler, and animal lover. Beautiful inside and out, she touched many lives, forwarded many careers and was always positive, loving and kind. She will be dearly missed by all, but none more so than her surviving family members: husband, Douglas; two daughters, Ariel (Cote) Chang and Athena Myers (Cody Dehler); sisters, Margo Hilton and Gina (Mike) Sandoval; brother, Mark (Stephanie) Hilton; aunt, Sandra Lynch (Ben Alfonso) and Uncle Hector (Jamie) Zepeda, plus numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and outlaws.
