Andrew POGOLER

Age 87 of St. Paul passed away June 30, 2017. Preceded in death by parents John & Helen Pogoler; and sisters, Edith (Michael) Liebgot and Leah (Harvey) Fenick. Survived by his wife of 22 years, Barbara; children, Jonathon (Robin) Nye, Christopher (Jennifer) Nye; grandchildren, Audrey, Lucas and Charlotte; nieces and nephews. Andrew was born in St. Paul and graduated from Central High and the University of MN. He served in the Navy Air Force during the Korean War as a member of the NATO Mapping Squadron. He worked with the Mpls Public Schools for 42 years as a teacher, counselor and administrator. Andy enjoyed an active life golfing, sailing, biking, running and traveling and spending his winters in Florida. Andrew was a lifelong Zionist and a strong supporter of Israel. He participated in many volunteer trips to Israel where he participated in archaeology and horticultural digs. Funeral services 11:00AM, SUNDAY, JULY 2, TEMPLE OF AARON SYNAGOGUE, 616 S. Mississippi River Blvd., St. Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum (give.ushmm.org/ donate).
