I recall the times we interacted while dropping off or picking Derek up at your home all those years ago and also at church...and what a wonderful individual he was!

Kathy,Joe and Karl, As with everyone we are extremely saddened at the passing of Nels. He was a wonderful man and i only wished we could have spent more time together. The suddenness is an enormous shock for all of you and hope that in light of that shock it may have spared lots of suffering. God Bless you all.

Kathy, family and friends, I will always remember the kindness and generosity that Nels exuded whenever I saw him professionally (since that is how I knew him). I always felt welcomed as a friend, despite being just a colleague. His love for his family and friends was evident even to those of us who knew him "just a little" ... my sincerest prayers are with you all.
