Dear Roxanne, Valencia, Suzette, Michael and grandchildren,

I want you to know how sorry I was that I was unable to attend Paul's wake and funeral. I had just arrived in Colorado when I heard the news of his death at Courtney and Greg's home.

Paul was such a "delightful" person. How much fun it must have been to have married a person like that!

The sixteen years living across the alley from you on Stonebridge were wonderful.

My sympathy to all of you on your loss. Paul will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Love,

Betty Culligan

These words by Ralph Waldo Emerson epitomize Paul: "To laugh often and love much, to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the respect of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived....this is to have succeeded.".......

Our hearts reach out to the Sands family in this difficult time. You have our love and sympathy.

Paul Sands fit the definition of "gentleman" to a T. He was one of the kindest people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing; inclusive, genuine, loving, and very proud of his family and those he held close to his heart. He leaves a rich legacy in his wife, Roxanne, daughter Valerie (my dear best friend), son Michael and his children. Paul "Finn" Sands, the younger, has big shoes to fill, but I know that Paul Sr. will oversee the entire family, and they will shine on in his light. I love you all so much, and share in your grief. I am blessed to have known and loved Paul Sands. Godspeed.

Dear Roxanne, Valerie, Michael and Suzette -

Courtney and I express our deepest sympathies for the Sands' Family. Paul was an incredible man and the best neighbor a family could ever imagine. Paul always treated us with utmost kindness, friendliness, and enthusiasm. I have fond memories of Paul asking "Gregory Joseph how are you doing?" It was always a pleasure to be around Paul and the entire Sands' Family.

Rest in Peace Paul! Have a Scotch in Heaven with Dr. Dave for us.

Peace and God Bless,
