Priscilla WIESSNER Obituary

Age 97, of Mendota Heights Beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother Passed away peacefully at home on February 24, 2023. Preceded in death by husband, Robert; son, Paul; and brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Joyce Jefferson. Survived by children, Glenn (Deborah) Wiessner and their children, Robert (Sarah), Adam, Tedd and Samuel; daughter-in-law, Karla Wiessner; Carol (James) Mackenzie and their children, Peter (Trisha) Mackenzie, Bre (Timothy) Sheehan, Joanna (Ray) Eaton, and Danielle (Morgan) Langhofer; and Grant (Carol) Wiessner and their children, Brynn, Jack, Emma (Daniel) Beavers, and Alex; and many great grandchildren; and special nieces, Colleen Jefferson and Claudia (Greg) Beckman, as well as many wonderful relatives and friends. Priscilla was born July 22, 1925 to Fred and Bernice Jefferson. Raised in St. Paul, she graduated from Macalester College in 1946. She enjoyed attending Mac Reunions and kept up with college friends through devoted "round robin" letter writing that continued throughout the years. Priscilla and Bob Wiessner were married in 1947 and raised their family in St. Paul. As a young couple, involvement with the St. Paul Jaycees resulted in lasting friendships through the Innijiska Group whose gatherings provided great fun, support and comfort over the decades. Priscilla's dear and lasting friendships extended to her many neighbors in St. Paul, up north near the Round Lake cabin, and in Mendota Heights. Priscilla had a passion for knitting beautiful blankets as gifts, and a fondness for making peanut brittle and caramels for everyone at Christmas. She enjoyed bridge and played regularly until her illness last October. She was always eager to play a game of cribbage or Yahtzee with one of the grandkids, or attend one of their sporting events. She enjoyed travel and adventure with family members as well. She had an amazing knack for thoughtfully remembering all of the birthdays and important milestones of family and friends in a way that made you feel special. Priscilla was the epitome of a perfect hostess. She enjoyed cooking, hosting friends and family for dinner, and baking cookies by the dozens, but most of all she enjoyed making her guests feel welcome—and well fed. Above all else, Priscilla loved her family deeply. Spending time with them, and always inquiring about their lives, was a priority for her. We will miss her spunky sense of humor, and her generous, courageous and loving heart. Memorial Service 1:00 PM Saturday, April 8, at Holcomb-Henry Boom-Purcell Funeral Home, 515 Hwy 96 W., Shoreview. Visitation from 11:30 AM – 1 PM. Reception following service. Private interment Acacia Park Cemetery. I'm sorry to hear of Priscillas passing. I remember lots of things about her but mostly I remember how very kind she was. I have a pretzel recipie she wrote for me. I'm a collector of handwritten recipes as handwriting brings back memories. Rip Priscilla lee
