Leo Farnsworth Obituary

Leo LeVern Farnsworth, age 90, of Talmage, passed away May 2, 2010, at his home of natural causes.
He was born April 28, 1920, in Rains, Utah, to Philo Taylor and Hazel Thayne Farnsworth. He married Beth LaRue Childs on May 21, 1945, in Salt Lake City and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 19, 1965.
Leo was a farmer, carpenter and woodworker. He was a talented carver, loved landscaping his yard and working in his garden. He had a dry sense of humor and a lot of grit. The pride of his life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed singing little ditties to grand babies. He loved his wife very much and took excellent care of her for 65 years.
Leo served in the Navy as a Seabee at the end of WWII. He was Farmer of the Year in 1972 for Dagget, Duchesne, and Manila Counties.
He is survived by his wife, Beth, Talmage; children, Sharon and Larry Peck, Talmage; Fred and Lindie Farnsworth, Jacksonville, Fla.; Maxine and Sam Brough, Talmage; Evon and John Hinson, Jacksonville, Fla. Missed by his 21grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren plus two on the way. He is survived also by his brothers and sisters, Grace Wilkins, Vernal; Leah and Jerry Bassett, SLC; VeLoy Bird, Kearns; Durrell and Linda Farnsworth, Mountain Home; and Dee and Ilene Farnsworth, Grace, Idaho.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, Afton MacKie, Clair Farnsworth, Rex Farnsworth, Laura Cummings and Lon Farnsworth; also by grandson, Zachary Peck, and great granddaughter, Elizabeth Farnsworth.
Funeral services were held Sat., May 8, at the Moon Lake LDS Ward Chapel.
Burial was in the Mountain Home-Boneta Cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 53 and the Utah Honor Guard. Services under direction of the Hullinger Mortuary. Condolences may be sent and viewed at www.hullingermortuary.com.
