Nancy Howard Obituary
Nancy was born to Robert and Louise (Sandberg) Deglman on August 13, 1954 in Princeton, MN. An avid reader, researcher, native gardener, and quilting artist. She loved and cherished her family and friends and all those she deemed "good people." She loved her plants, enjoyed digging in the soil, and cared for the Earth however she could.
Her daily routine started with coffee, looking at the lake with Dan and her best friend Bruno, watching the birds and just catching up while planning the day. She enjoyed quilting with her quilter groups and so loved teaching her granddaughter, Val how to quilt. She helped manage their 20 acres of Prairie grasses and flowers and had just started landscaping their new Barn site with native sedges and flowers. She loved her dog Bruno and all his dog cousins. As a farm girl, she never hesitated taking on the hard work and as a business partner with Dan, always kept the books up to date and never cut corners. She loved decorating inside and outside the house and brought so much color to their home and all of our lives.
She volunteered endlessly, whether for friends or organizations and was always a progressive woman. She touched so many and so many touched her. To know her is to love her.
She was so proud of her family. Dylan carried on the business and with exceptional skill. Sarah for her accounting and organizational skills. Granddaughter Cloey who just graduated from the U of M and her "no fear" of trying attitude. And her granddaughter Val for her brilliance and love. She and Dan were planning to get away for their 50th anniversary in June. They had always been partners and she kept everything in order. She was teased for being "Bossy" but insisted that some things needed bossing.
Please join us Saturday, June 10th for a celebration of Nancy's life at the Historic Deglman Farm in Princeton from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Dress casual for the weather.
