He was born and grew up in Amesbury, Massachusetts. He graduated from the Art Institute of Boston with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Throughout his life, he resided in Boston, Somerville, Salem and Watertown, MA, but made his home in Bedford, NH, with his loving family: Bridget McAdams, James McAdams and his faithful dog Hooper.

Jeff was preceded in death by his father, John Davey; and his grandparents, Pauline and Ludger Morrissette and his aunt Elizabeth Pence. He is survived by his mother, Ann Davey; his sister, Deanna Davey, and her children Amelia and Aaron; his uncle Robert Morrissette and wife Paula, and their sons Joseph and Justin; his cousins Nicole, Nathan and Timothy; as well as a very close group of friends.
