Margaret 'Peggy' Courtney, 80 of Bedford, NH passed away March 2, 2023. Margaret's birth in Manchester superstitiously made the local paper because it occurred on Friday the 13th. Margaret graduated from St. Joseph's High School for girls and went on to work for the telephone company until her retirement. Margaret enjoyed being a member of the Ladies of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. She was predeceased by her loving husband Larry Courtney and two brothers, Francis and Richard Reagan. Margaret is survived by her children: Michael Courtney of Utah, Mary Rooney and her husband Sean of Massachusetts, and Patrick Courtney, his wife Judy and Margaret's wonderful grandchildren Emerson and Ryan of New Hampshire. Margaret was a lifetime friend and guardian to numerous wayward and ailing cats, all of which enjoyed better nine lives because of her loving care. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 9:00 AM tp 11:00 AM at Durning, Bykowski & Young Funeral Home, 285 Manchester Street, Manchester, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 190 Meetinghouse Rd, Bedford. Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Bedford.
