Maryellen Walker Obituary

Maryellen passed away in her home in Goffstown at the age of 73. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on August 16, 1950, the daughter of the late Mary (Miskill) and Kenneth Thomaier. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Walker Jr, who passed away in 1996.

She grew up in New Jersey, primarily in Roselle and graduated from Seton Hall with her BA in nursing and Boston College with her MS in education. Her early career was in nursing, but then she became a professor of nursing for over 30 years at NHTI in Concord, NH and 2 years at Kapi'olani Community College in Honolulu, HI, educating countless students who are now still working in the field.

She enjoyed spending time with family, traveling, the Jersey Shore, reading, trivia, Jeopardy, and seeing live theater/musical shows.

She is survived by her son, Joseph, granddaughter, Kaysyn, who are both in NH and her three siblings, Carol Sue, Kenneth and Robert Thomaier who are all out of state, and numerous cousins. There will be a "celebration of life" at her home in Goffstown on Saturday, August 24th from 1-5pm.

I was fortunate to have Mary Ellen as one of my nursing instructors at NHTI. She was also patient, kind and a wealth of information and a great role model. Sending prayers to her friends and family.
