Karleen Shockey Obituary
URBANA - Karleen D. Shockey, 55 of Urbana, Ohio passed away unexpectedly March 4, 2016 in her home.
She was born June 5, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio. She was employed with Honda of America for 23 years and K-Mart for 15 years. Karleen was a member of The Women of the Moose and the American Legion. Some of her hobbies included camping, pool parties, and cake decorating. She especially enjoyed the Halloween and Christmas holidays.
Karleen loved her dogs, but most of all, she treasured spending time with her grandchildren.
Karleen is survived by her husband of 12 years, Daniel Jude Shockey; her mother, Alexandra Carpenter Tonkin Landers; her daughters, Kristin (Evan) West and Megan (Randy) Shirk, her son, Kevin (April) Shockey; her grandchildren, Layla and Phoebe West, Mason and Liam Shockey and Sutton Shirk; her sisters, Karen Oani, Debbie Landers, Donna Blair, Diane Landers, brothers, David (Kim) Landers and Danny Landers; as well as several nieces, nephews and many special friends including, Lisa, Jackie, Kendra and Suzy.
She was preceded in death by her father, James (Ruth) Tonkin and step father, Robert Landers.
A celebration gathering of family and friends will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2016 in the VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, Ohio. Following at 8 p.m. a service will be held by The Women of the Moose #698.
A celebration of life service will be held at the family's convenience.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Barely Used Pets, 844 Jackson Hill Rd., Urbana, Ohio 43078, Paws Animal Shelter, 1535 US 36, Urbana, Ohio 43078, Animal Welfare League, 3858 St. Rt. 56, Mechanicsburg, Ohio 43044 or donor's favorite charity.
