Alap Butala Obituary
A Passionate and Lively Spirit
NEW HARTFORD - Alap Atul Butala, MD, passed away on January 24, 2019, peacefully at 34 years of age, unexpectedly in the comfort of his own home. He was the son of Drs. Atul and Amita Butala.
Alap was born in Long Island, NY, on September 15th, 1984. After graduating from New Hartford Central Schools in 2002, he attended New York University and then went on to earn his medical degree at Tufts University and subsequently trained at MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
He was a passionate and lively spirit. In his free time, he enjoyed cooking, traveling, reading, dining, sporting activities, all types of music, and cherishing time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his parents, Atul and Amita; brother, Anish; grandmother, Shardaben; and extended family.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday (today) from 12 - 2 PM at McGrath, Myslinski, Karboski & Nunn Funeral Directors, 470 French Rd., Utica.

In the past few months I had become close to Alap through many exchanges such as on the golf links, texts, and enjoying a good meal together. I was always in awe by his brilliant intellect and knowledge, a gifted gentleman.His friendship was sincere, honest, respectful, and true. I will miss him deeply.
