Alice Rosen Obituary
UTICA - Alice Levine Rosen passed away January 20, 2018, at the Masonic Care Community, following the celebration of her 105th birthday, with her family by her side.
Alice was born on January 20, 1913, in Massena, NY, a daughter of the late Samuel and Lena Friedlander Levine. On May 23, 1943, she married Milton S. Rosen. Mr. Rosen passed away October 10, 1987.
Mrs. Rosen lived at her home in Utica until she turned 100, when she moved to the Masonic Care Community. She was a wonderful mother, mother-in-law and grandmother.
She leaves her son, Irwin L. Rosen, of Utica; daughter, Marilyn A. Rosen (Allan Hymes), of Rochester, NY; and grandchildren, Seth Hymes, of Carson City, Nevada, and Jenna Hymes (Matthew Schatz), of Los Angeles, California; as well as many nieces and nephews that she held dearly in her heart.
Funeral will be 1:30 PM, Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Temple Beth El, 2710 Genesee Street, Utica, with Cantor Kalman Socolof officiating. Interment will be in Temple Beth El Cemetery.
Shiva will be observed at 28 Prospect St., Utica, on Tuesday, January 23, from 6 to 8 PM and on Wednesday, January 24, from 1 to 4 PM.
Donations in Alice's memory may be offered to Masonic Care Community, 2150 Bleecker St., Utica, NY 13501.

Irwin & Marylin:
My condolences to you on the loss of your mother, Alice.
I remember her quite well as the cafeteria monitor at John F Hughes when I first started there in 1964. Also, from all the times she used to come to our house on Ballantyne Brae to play Mah Johng.
May her memory be a blessing to all who knew & loved her.
