Barbara Irizarry Obituary
Utica, NY
Mrs. Barbara E. (Becker) Irizarry, 64, a resident of the Lutheran Home, passed away with her loved ones by her side on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare. Barb was born in Utica on July 4, 1948, a daughter of Edward and Annette (Smith) Becker. She was raised and educated in Utica and attended local schools. On February 6, 1965, Barb married Juan Irizarry, Sr., and from that union they had five children. She is survived by her children, Gina and Carmen Bossone, Juan Irizarry, Jr., and Gina Rotach, Netta Brady and fiance, Craig Arts, Paul and Roxanne Irizarry, and Anita Irizarry and Karrie DiNigro; grandchildren, Carmen and Samantha Bossone, Catherine Robertaccio and Jenna Lynn Irizarry, Stephen and Cody Brady, Marlena and Olivia Irizarry; two very special furry grandchildren, Nikko and Santos; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Edward Becker, Wayne and Suzanne Smith, and Carol Becker; step-brothers, George, Richard and Jonathon Becker; and step-sisters, Sharon, Ellie and Nancy Becker. She was predeceased by two brothers, John and Edwin Becker; and a special sister-in-law, Jacqueline Becker. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at The Matt Funeral Home, 700 Rutger St., corner of Mohawk St., Utica. There will be a service celebrating Barbara's life at the conclusion of calling hours. Private interment will be in Frankfort Center Cemetery. The family would like to offer their gratitude to the doctors and staff of the sixth floor of St. Luke's Hospital, especially Kim, Anura and Christina, for their loving care and compassion during this difficult time.
