RIO HONDO, TX. -
Ricardo ``Ricky' Ramos, Jr., 18, entered into eternal rest Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen.
He was a recent graduate of Rio Hondo High School; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and hanging out with family and friends; but most of all his passion was team roping and roping cattle in the brush, he had numerous winnings in Team Roping, the best award could've received is winning the USTRC Texas State Champion Saddle and Buckle.
He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Cheno Ramos; his uncles, Juan Ramos, Eli Rodriguez, and Ruben Rodriguez.
Ricky is survived by his parents, Ricardo Ramos, Sr. and Julia R. Ramos; his brothers and sister, Felicha (Enrique) Garduno, Santos ``Sonny' Ramos, and Amanda Ramos; his paternal grandmother, Eloisa Ramos; his maternal grandparents, Adan Rodriguez and Maria I. Rodriguez; and a special grandmother, Dora R. Gutierrez; and numerous aunts, uncles, and many cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a Holy Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 P.M. at San Benito Funeral Home.
The funeral procession will depart San Benito Funeral Home on Friday, January 4, 2013 at 9:15 A.M. for a 10:00 A.M. Funeral Mass at St. Helen Catholic Church in Rio Hondo.
Interment will follow at San Vicente Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Edward Sosa, Martin Nieto, Curtis Ramos, Ernie Garcia, Jr Posas, and Robert Gutierrez; honorary pallbearers will be Santos ``Sonny' Ramos, Matt Garza, JD Perales, and Ivan Sanchez.

The loss of a child brings the most excruciating pain in our hearts .. We too lost our 13 year old son 2 weeks ago suddenly . It leaves you with a numbing and a pain that just can't be healed with words . Although we may not know each other , You are not alone in your grief . We mourn along with you and share in your pain . The only bit of advice we can provide is not to lose your faith in God .
