Sandra Bernard Obituary

Sandra Z. Bernard

Ventura, CA

Sandra Z. Bernard, a resident of Ventura, CA for 54 years, passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 15, 2018, just short of her 82nd birthday.

Her quiet charm won over all she met and she was described as sweet, kind-hearted, beautiful and selfless.

Sandra was born to J.V.(Doc) and Virginia Zoeller on September 1st 1936 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and was an only child. Sandra lived in Sacred Heart, Oklahoma until the summer of 1958 when she packed her bags and headed to Los Angeles, California to meet up with her cousin Carolyn who was like a sister to her. She quickly landed a job as a secretary working for Shell Oil and met the love of her life and soon-to-be husband Ralph H Bernard. They married on January 14, 1961 and shortly thereafter welcomed the first of three children, Dianne, in 1961 and had two more children John and David in the years that followed.

At age 32 and passionate about natural health care and helping others she started a business with Shaklee and quickly became a top producer and leader while helping others to achieve their goals in the health and beauty industry. She was a stay at home mom managing a successful business, a true pioneer. Sandra's social and business life evolved around promoting her business with seminars and training as well as hosting open houses and parties for friends, business partners and customers.

Sandra's greatest joy in her life was her husband and three children and her Catholic faith. She and her husband Ralph helped with the building and planning of Sacred Heart Church in Saticoy, California and were active members of that Community for over 40 years.

A beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Ralph H Bernard and parents J.V. (Dc) and Virginia Zoeller. Survived by her are her children, Dianne, David and John Bernard, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to visiting hours from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday August 27, 2018 in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICE, 757 E. Main Street, Ventura, where a Most Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Leon Hutton at 10:00 am Tuesday August 28, 2018 in Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, 3175 Telegraph Road, Ventura. Interment will immediately follow in Conejo Mountain Memorial Park, 2052 Howard Road, Camarillo.

My deepest sympathies to Dianne, David, John and family. I meant Sandy and Ralph in 1972 when Marti brought me into the Shaklee business. She was always kind and helpful to the many who came in and out of your home.

Wish I could be at the services but am having cataract surgery that morning. So many memories I can't pick one out to share at this time. RIP Sandy.
