Judith Leavitt Obituary
Wilder, VT - Judith K. "Judy" Leavitt, 87, died Monday, October 16, 2023, at Cedar Hill Health Center in Windsor.
Judy was born June 25, 1936, in Burlington, VT, a daughter of George and Bertha (Alden) Osborne. She grew up in Springfield, VT and graduated from Springfield High School in 1955. Judy was married to Henry Leavitt on November 3, 1956, they lived in the Upper Valley later settling in Wilder.
Judy was a member of the West Lebanon Congregational Church. She was a certified master gardener; and could often be found in her garden enjoying the scent of the lilacs and her roses. She was a wonderful storyteller, so full of color and detail. Judy enjoyed Baking especially pies for all to enjoy.
Judy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry J. Leavitt and a sister Joan Bennett. She is survived by a son, Steven Leavitt of White River Junction, VT, a daughter, Bethanie Leavitt Alden of Cary, Il; five grandchildren Victoria Clausen, Kimberly Miller, Crystal Baslow, Courtney Leavitt, and Baily Davis; three great-grandchildren, the latest being born this year on her birthday. She is also survived by a brother David Osborne of White River Junction and two sisters Sue Olsen of Trenton, ME and Sally Gilmore of West Addison, VT.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at the Wilder Club from 1-4pm. Knight Funeral Home in White River Junction assisted with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to Judy's family in an online guestbook at www.knightfuneralhomes.com.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Bayada Hospice Foundation, PO Box 1590, Norwich, VT 05055.
