Alfonse Aimer Obituary

Alfonse "Ike" Aimer, 81, of Chalk Bluff, passed away Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, in West. A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at the V.F.W. Club in West, with military honors conducted by the Post Honor Guard. Mr. Aimer was born Sept. 12, 1927, near West, the son of John and Annie (Merenda) Aimer. He attended school in West, and later served in the United States Army, and was honorably discharged June 14, 1952, with the rank of corporal. On Oct. 20, 1962, he was united in marriage to Peggy Joan Peters in Las Vegas, Nev. Ike worked in production control of aircraft for McDonald Douglas in Long Beach, Calif. for 35 years, until his retirement in 1989. Upon their return to the Central Texas area, he became an active member of the V.F.W. Post 4819 in West. His parents; and three brothers, Ernest Aimer, Albin Aimer and John Aimer, preceded him in death. Survivors include his beloved wife of 46 years, Peggy J. Aimer of Chalk Bluff; a son, Donald Allen Aimer of Irving; a brother, Joseph Aimer of Bellmead; a sister, Frances Barton and husband, Edmund of Waco; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
