Age 88. of Warner, NH, and recently of Fairfax, VA. on Friday, April 30 at Pine Rock Manor. He was born in New York City, the son of George and Clothilde (Vaillant) Albert and was raised in Allendale, New Jersey. As a boy scout in NJ, he earned the rank of Eagle, was a troop leader, participated in several national jamborees, and recently was honored for his lifelong support of the Boy Scouts of America. A career soldier in the US Army, he enlisted in 1941 and served in the European, African, and Middle Eastern theatres during World War II. His 27 years of service included overseas assignments in Italy, Austria, Puerto Rico, Korea, and Okinawa. After retirment in 1969, he did research and consulting for RMS Research, Kappa Systems, and Delta Research Corporations, maintaining residence in the Washington,DC area. He was an avid golfer who collected both stamps and rocks and upon his last retirement, traveled extensively in the US and Canada. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Dorothy Juleus Albert of Warner; a sister , Doris Albert Berdan of Concord, NH; a niece, Deborah B. Wiswell of Concord, NY; two nephews, Dirk Berdan of Renton, WA and Theodore Schumann of Manasquan, NJ; several great nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew. Burial will be at 1 p.m. on June 30, 2004 in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC.
