Barbara Levy Obituary

LEVY BARBARA COGGINS LEVY (Age 81) On April 22, 2009, BARBARA LEVY, formerly of McLean, VA, passed away at Falcons Landing in Potomac Falls, VA. Loving wife of the late Frank A. Levy; devoted mother of Frank A. Levy, Jr. (Catherine B. Rice), Michael N. Levy (Belynda B.), and the late Steven C. Levy, who passed away 1996. She is also survived by one sister, Nancy (Serop) Nersesian; grandmother of Nicholas M., Brittany L., Isabelle R. Levy and Ryan Rice Levy. Funeral services will be held at St. Johns Episcopal Church, 6715 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA, on Saturday, April 25 at 2 p.m. Interment will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Friday, June 12 at 11 a.m. Those wishing to attend should meet at the gate by 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Johns Memorial Fund, in memory of Barbara C. My family and I moved to McLean in 1972, and from day one, Barbara Levy made a wonderful difference in our lives in our new home in Virginia. Now, there is a beautiful, new angel in heaven keeping an eye out for all of us.

I will be sharing with you in the services today, but wanted to let you know that Barbara was a very classy lady and an inspiration to me. Having known her the last seven years has been an inspiration to my life! I thank God I had the opportunity to see her once more at Johnson Center and spend some time with her a few weeks ago.

Frank and Mike, so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. She was a wonderful person as was your dad and your family in general. One couldn't have asked for better neighbors growing up. I like to think she's in a better place, especially being reunited with Big Frank and Steve. I'm sure they're all up there (my dad and sister Barbara too) having a martini and smiling down on us. I'm thinking of you all!
