We were best friendss during Ardmore Junior High School days. Drifting apart during Lower mmerion Senior High as she was a year ahead of me. She gave me hewr dog Schatze a black dachshund when she lived in Havorford and had a young baby Davey Ritchie. She was a memorable and wonderful friend and we always had long conversations. I thought she married the nicest boy of any of my friends. So glad to find her even though it is too late. I searched for her in the past but no luck until today. She was Catey back then.

I still have an email that Cate sent me when my mom died in December 2010. I was very fond of Cate and sorry that we lost touch. It was a privilege to know her and I know she will be sorely missed. I hope her last years were full of love and laughter.

Dear David, Marina and Rob,
You had wonderful parents! And I send you condolences on your losses.
I'm a member of Church of the Servant, and knew your parents. Although we were not close friends, we shared a lot in common. My parents were from Washington State, and I have been to Mt. Rainier many times. I love that mountain! Like the Native Americans, I too think it is sacred. My brother climbed Mt. Rainier when he was 18. Several times I've been to Harpers Ferry. And I graduated from Sidwell Friends many years ago, and Cate and I shared stories.
My father did not want a funeral, and so we did not have one when he died. But when I returned from Seattle, Church of the Servant was having the funeral for your Dad. That service was where I could mourn and celebrate my father in a church setting, as well as your father.
I'm glad I knew them, and know you will deeply miss your mother, as you continue to miss your father. My best to you and your children.

Loved Cate and Dave Richie, two of my personal heroes. What a wonderful legacy they left for us all.
