DAVID PARMELEE Obituary
Dr. DAVID C. PARMELEE
Passed away on February 27, 2013, at home with family in North Bethesda, MD. Beloved and appreciated husband of 43 years to Patricia Behrens Parmelee; burstingly proud father of Alissa and Heather and father-in-law of Joshua Klotz. David is the son of George (deceased) and Margaret Parmelee (E. Lansing, MI). He is also survived by sisters Gail Orlove (husband Spencer Orlove), Kathleen Timmis (husband Dr. Roger Timmis), and Laurel Hershiser; and nephews Dr. Firooz Pak and David Timmis. Service will be held at Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church, 9601 Cedar Lane, Bethesda, MD 20814 on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 4 p.m. Private burial at Parklawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Prostate Cancer Foundation, www.pcf.org - 1250 Fourth St., Santa Monica, CA 90401. I just heard that David passed away last week. I was so sorry and saddened to hear that. I only knew David through the occasional get-togethers at the Silver's and Simms', but always thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent together, whether chatting about science or iPhones. He had such a nice, low-key and wonderfully friendly demeanor. His absence will be missed at the next New Year's or Super Bowl gathering.

David was a wonderful person, scientist and friend. I have not been in touch with him for several yeras, he was a mentor during my early career in Biotech. I remember his patience and keeping level headed not matter the situation. I will always remember him fondly for his character & standing and living his values, setting an example for all of us. On a lighter note, the best venisson I ever had was when Dave brought smoked meat, thin sliced - for a "Beer and Deer" sharing. Will miss him.
