Elizabeth Darling Obituary

Elizabeth "Bette" Darling (nee Turner) of Poolesville, MD passed away on June 22, 2024. Born on March 22, 1947, in Portsmouth, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Oscar Blount and Lois Baggette Turner. She was a graduate of Bethesda Chevy Chase High School and the University of Maryland.

Bette is survived by her beloved spouse, Richard A. Darling of Poolesville, MD; her devoted daughter, Laura Darling (husband, Travis Patton); her cherished grandchildren, Caleb and Jacob Patton of Elk Grove, CA; and her loving brother, Joseph B. Turner (wife, Linda Hart) of Nashville, TN. Bette adored spending time with her grandsons, especially in California where she loved the warm weather and palm trees. She also enjoyed listening to music by Adam Lambert and Queen and watching General Hospital.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating Bette's life. A visitation will be held at PUMPHREY'S COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 300 W. Montgomery Ave., Rockville, MD, on Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 3 to 5 p.m. where service will be held on Monday, July 1, 2024, beginning at 1 p.m. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Aspen Hill, MD to follow.
