HNEICH Georges Hneich Passed away on January 21, 2018 at Georgetown University Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Georges was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was known for radiating strength, serenity and courage. He exemplified perseverance and fortitude throughout life, especially through his long and arduous seven year battle with prostate cancer. Georges was born in Aleppo, Syria on January 4, 1954 and was the son of the late Antoine and Antoinette Hneich. At age 8, he felt a calling for the Catholic priesthood, and spent his formative years at the seminary of St. Paul in Harissa, Lebanon. He completed graduate-level studies in theology and psychology at St. Paul Institute in Harissa. After graduating, Georges left the seminary in 1977 and moved to Caracas, Venezuela and started a family. He later relocated to Washington, DC in 1998. Georges displayed natural abilities for business and trade, as he founded and operated successful telecom and trading enterprises such as Pensat International Communications, Inc. and Atlas Trading, Inc. that played a leading role in the era of Internet growth and economic globalization. While much can be written about Georges, his true legacy is his family, which grew and prospered under his love and guidance. He is survived by his beloved wife, Nesly Hneich, daughter, Vivi Cassella, son, Georges Hneich, son-in-law, Frank Cassella, grandchildren, Makayla and Vinny Cassella, sister-in-law, Francia Torres, Mary Catherine Park and loving siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends near and far. He will be forever missed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday, January 26, at 1 p.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 21371 St. Theresa Lane, Ashburn, VA and interment to follow at Union Cemetery in Leesburg, VA.
