JACK GARDNER Obituary

JACK H. GARDNER
With exceptional peacefulness, on November 30, 2015. A 41-year resident of Bethesda, Maryland, beloved husband of the late Nell Gardner for over 60 years, devoted father. Predeceased by his parents, Thomas H. and Vaden S. Gardner, his sister Margaret Garner, and his niece Margie Garner. Survived by his son John S. Gardner, his nephews Tom and Steve Garner, and many friends. Born on April 13, 1930 in McAlester, Oklahoma, he was a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, the University of Oklahoma Law School, and New York University Law School; a First Lieutenant in the United States Air Force; a loving and devoted husband; and a wonderful father. He enjoyed gardening, golf, and travel; had an insatiable curiosity and love of learning; and his kindness and sense of humor were noted by all.  Interment will be at Quantico National Cemetery on December 7, 2015, at 12 noon. A memorial service will be held at the Little Sanctuary of St. Albans School on Friday, December 11, at 2 p.m.; family will receive friends at the school after the service. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and caregivers who did so much to make his last years as comfortable and happy as possible. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Boy Scouts of America (www.scouting.org), which did so much to broaden his horizons, or to the USO (www.uso.org). He now rests with God.
