Judith Morrill Obituary
Judith Garziano Morrill
Judith Garziano Morrill of Washington, DC, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and loved ones on June 5, 2023. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Leslie Holt Morrill.
A proud graduate of Pembroke College in Brown University, Judith taught for six years in the Connecticut and Michigan public school systems. Following marriage and motherhood, at age 50 she relaunched her career, first in landscape design, then banking, then in the field of postsecondary education, with public service in the Boston office and Washington, DC headquarters of the U.S. Department of Education, from which she retired as an investigator in the Office of Inspector General.
A faithful friend, thoughtful conversationalist on myriad subjects, transformative gardener, voracious reader, avid traveler, and enthusiastic supporter of arts and culture, she volunteered at Hillwood Estate, Museum & Gardens and several museums of the Smithsonian Institution. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Morrill Apostolides (Nik) of Washington, DC, and her brother Justin D. Garziano (Kathy) of Fancy Gap, VA. No funeral will take place. Memorial contributions can be made to So Others Might Eat (some.org/donate) or to the Humane Rescue Alliance (humanrescuealliance.org/donate). Hi: Very sad to hear of Judith's passing. I worked with her for several years and we became good friends. She was a fun person to talk with and had good opinions about many things. I last saw her back in 2002 when we went out for supper. I called a few times, but no answer. Last time I called was this spring and she had a caretaker who answered the phone. If her daughter Melissa sees this please contact me at 978-807-4904. On the East coast until 9/12 end then back in AZ

Judith trained me as a volunteer at the Renwick Gallery. Her enthusiastic for the museum was infectious. I so enjoyed seeing her when my shift started and hers ended. She will be remembered fondly and missed.
