RICHARD N. WOLF
On Sunday, May 27, 2012, RICHARD N. WOLF of Washington, DC. City planner and activist. Beloved husband of 53 years of Muriel DuBrow Wolf, M.D.; devoted father of Anne Armour (Richard Wehby, Ph.D.) Wolf, M.D. and Jennifer Wolf (Steven, M.D.) Nemerson; dear brother of Joanne (Victor, Ph.D.) Small, Lillian (Robert, M.D.) Wintroub and the late Aaron Goldberg; brother-in-law of Edward L. (Cynthia) DuBrow, M.D.; loving grandfather of Julie and Nicole Nemerson. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, 11 a.m. at Temple Micah, 2829 Wisconsin Ave., N.W., Washington, DC 20007. Interment following at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, Adelphi, MD. Shiva will be observed at the late residence on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday evenings with minyans (prayer service) at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Capitol Hill Restoration Society, 420 10th St., S.E., Washington, DC 20003 or to Temple Micah. Arrangements entrusted to TORCHINSKY HEBREW FUNERAL HOME, (202) 541-1001 (endorsed by the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington).

I worked with Dick at NASA Headquarters and remember him very fondly as a mentor who was willing to roll up his sleeves to solve any problem while keeping us smiling with his dry sense of humor. I am sorry for your loss.

Charlotte and I were sorry we were unable to be with you last week but know that our thoughts are with you all. Dick did it his way and I'm sure you were thankful to have had this extra time.

Dear Muriel and family:
How sad and for me how surprising. Dick and I worked together at the Commission on Civil Rights long ago in the Administration of Justice Section. We have not been in touch for too long and when I saw his picture, with you,in the paper today, I thought he looked familiar -- and then I realized it was him. I didn't know Richard but I know Joanne. Losing a sibling has been described as a psychological amputation. It is that, and I wish the family support and comfort in their mourning.

Dick was such a wonderful neighborhood activist. I hold a great deal of respect for his hard work, knowledge and love for Capitol Hill. He was always an important source of information for the history of development on Capitol Hill and for his tireless efforts to maintain the beauty of our community and neighborhood.
